Situation

A subsidiary of an international aerospace company needed leadership support during the move to a new upgraded factory which coincided with the departure of the deputy general manager and was taking place before the imminent departure of the general manager.

 

Solution

X-PM deployed an experienced bi-cultural interim manager to take on the role of interim deputy general manager to support with the move and transition. His tasks agreed with the client were to manage the supply chain and procurement functions and transform them; supervise the maintenance, finance and HR departments; be the transition manager between the former general manager who was to leave and the new one; ensure that all compliance rules of the group are implemented in the subsidiary.

 

Result

The interim Deputy General Manager took the following measures:

  • set-up new procurement procedures
  • split the supply chain from procurement and set up new supply chain department
  • completed the construction project of the new production facility
  • supervised Finance, Maintenance and HR departments work and suggested improvements to headquarters
  • ensured a smooth start of the new general manager and deputy general manager by preparing their arrival and coaching them in their initial phase
